When I first began buying my own skincare products as a teenager, I would go to the drug store and read product labels.  I was frightened and confused by what I read on the back of lotions and creams, even those labeled as “sensitive” and “recommended by dermatologists”.

I was appalled by the chemical heavy fragrances and the convoluted ingredients that filled even the most sensitive formulas.  These same fragrances and chemicals have now been shown to be as harmful as secondhand smoke causing a wide range of illnesses.

I embarked on this fascinating journey of formulating skincare in a quest to develop products I felt were healing.  What began as a simple recipe for my body, evolved into coveted gifts for friends and family, and now we are making these curative products available to the public.

I am passionate about self-care, believing the temple which our souls inhabit should be lovingly nurtured.  Care for the body and the body will care for us.

About Ingredients

EFA’s a.k.a Essential Fatty Acids, the right oils—specifically oils high in essential fatty acids (EFAs) can leave your complexion glowing.  Taken internally or used externally, EFAs can provide numerous benefits to both your skin and your overall health.

EFAs are important structural components of cell membranes throughout the body. They help lubricate the cells keeping them fluid, allowing nutrients to enter the cells and wastes to exit. EFA “waterproof” the skin, creating an antimicrobial barrier against the elements keeping the skin cells moist and strong by reducing the amount of water lost through the epidermis (the top layer of skin). Without enough EFAs, your skin can suffer from dryness and premature aging.

Coconut oil (non-gmo + organic) natural SPF 10, is anti-bacterial, is a disinfectant and contains anti-microbial properties. Coconut oil can be eaten, and smells subltly like coconut. Coconut oil contains vitamin e.

Jojoba oil (non-gmo + organic) natural SPF 4, same rich in EFA’s that are naturally found in human sebum oil.

Hazelnut oil (non-gmo + organic) natural SPF 15, slightly astringent action that is good for all skin types, but especially for those with oily skin. Hazelnut oil is high in Oleic acid – 75.9% – and contains Vitamin E.

Avocado oil (non-gmo + organic) SPF between 4 to 10, rich in vitamins a, b1, b2, b5, lechithin and EFA Oleic acid.  Anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing by increasing collagen in connective tissue, improves ksin elsasticity, cellular regenretaive, ideal for fragile skin, due to high sterol contend.

Argan oil (non-gmo + organic) hydrates + softens, gives skin a natural boost. Absorbs easily, non-greasy + non-irrating.

The active natural ingredients in argan oil are impressive, and include…

• Tocopherols (high in vitamin E)
• Squalene
• Carotenes
• Sterols
• Phenolic antioxidants

Apricot kernel oil (non-gmo + organic) is very light, emollient and possesses many therapeutic properties which make it suitable for its various uses.

Sunflower Seed oil (non-gmo + organic) is also light, emollient (meaning it holds moisture inside the cells) and is one of the healthiest oils for consumption as well as application on the skin and the hair. Using products containing sunflower seed oil several times per week can help postpone its aging.

The main component of sunflower oil is linoleic acid. Its other components include oleic acid and palmitic acid. In addition to these, it contains lecithin, carotenoids, tocopherols and vitamins A, D and E.

Shea butter (non-gmo, fair trade, organic) natural SPF 6-10, rich in vitamins E and A.  The main ingredient in our sun crème, shea butter is super moisturizing, anti-aging, regenerating by stimulating the production of collagen. Contains the same moisturizers as the sebaceous glands of the skin. Since the shea butter we use is organic + fair trade, rich and moisturizing, it is ideal for sensitive skin especially baby care. It is natural, gentle and soft for every type of skin, but it is specially adapted for the delicate and sensitive skin of babies. It is perfect for after bath skin care and as a healer in case of eczema or diaper rash for babies and kids. African women have used it for millennia to protect and nourish their babies’ skin. Using pure Shea butter on your baby guarantees you of a totally natural and chemical-free skin care. Given that lots of baby care products contain toxic chemicals, Shea butter is the best ally for eco-conscious moms.

Cocoa butter (non-gmo, fair trade, organic) is a great source of antioxidants, which help combat free radicals and help save your skin from the inevitable signs of aging and environmental stressors. use it regularly and you will see how it accelerates the process of regeneration.

Vitamin E (non-gmo, non-soy, organic) keeps your skin hydrated for a longer period of time.  We add vitamin E into most of our skin care, anti-oxidant, protectant, reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Beeswax (non-gmo + organic) is used as a thickening agent in products, contains vitamin A (promotes cell turnover), used as a protectant (holds in moisture + heals wounds), humectant (attracts moisture), is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, calms + soothes itching and won’t clog pores.

Vegetable derived emulsifying wax (non-gmo + organic) is used as a mild stabilizer, thickener + emulsifying agent in our lotions + creams.   Sourced from naturally occurring fats + esters.  This wax may be used as a protectant as well as improving texture of products without leaving a film on the outer skin.   Our variety of Emulsifying wax is NF (National Formulary) approved.

Essential oils EO (organic denoted with *) Therapeutic properties of each EO vary from oil to oil.  Properties include but are not limited to: anti-bacterial, anti-asthmatic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, anti-anxiety, aphrodisiac, digestive, disinfectant, detoxification and more. Each essential oil has their specific benefits.

Palm oil (organic + sustainable) is one of the few ingredients in our deodorant. This oil contains palmitic, oleic, linoleic + a trace of linolenic acid, fatty acids that nourish the skin cells without blocking pores. This oil has a high melting point (75 degrees) and helps the deodorant hold it’s shape.

Baking soda (non-aluminum) used in our deodorant to assist in absorbing odor.

Cornstarch Powder (non-gmo + organic) absorbs moisture and balances ph in our deodorant blend.

Arrowroot powder (non-gmo + organic) adds a starchy component to our deodorant blend, keeping underarms dry while balancing the ph levels of the composition.

Clays we add a few different clays to our masks and scrub.  Clays are naturally absorbent and depending upon type of clay they may assist mineral deficiencies, bind with toxins, exfoliate and smooth the ski. Clays also bring blood flow to the area applied stimulating healing and bringing a glow to the face.
